Happy weekend! It's the Jo'burg Art Fair this weekend - one of Bailey's favourite annual events. Here is her post about the fair a couple years ago. Bailey and the babes are hitting the fair today...
I don't have much planned, after my busy one last weekend I am looking forward to being lazy and doing nothing. Also, I recently started watching Homeland and like everyone, am obsessed. So I think my nights will be dedicated to season 2.

Here are some fun links from around the web:
I think monogrammed linen is super fancy.
Photos that prove that animal love does exist.
The best website if you are lucky enough to be visiting Paris.
guest post: public holiday plan
It's a public holiday here in South Africa today so to all our local readers happy heritage day. I hope you are going to visit a museum, botanical garden, monument or have a braai to celebrate. Here is what I plan to do on this lovely non-working Tuesday:

Can you guess which one?
1. Decor Chinois | 2. Porcelain Plates | 3. Florence Broadhurst | 4. Animals | 5. SwanLake | 6. Antique roses | 7. Flights of Fancy | 8. National Geographic | 9. Birds n Bees

TGIF! Don't you agree? What are you plans? I am hosting a kitchen tea tea my house tomorrow for my oldest friend! (It's a surprise so I hope that she doesn't read this blog). Although I am not a bridesmaid, I offered up my home to host the girls party. So for me this weekend will be filled the champagne, cake, girly chats and complete over excitement! Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

I decided to theme this week's posts from the web around kitchen teas, showers and all things fun like that. Enjoy!
Incase you missed it, here is Bailey's post about my kitchen tea. I might be bias but I think it was the best one ever. Also on Bury and Discover, I was a bridesmaid for my friend Ashley - here are pics from her shower.
A good message for a bride-to-be.
The perfect summer dress to wear to a bridal shower.
Mrs fancy pants and Mr handsome. I like these.
Kitchen towels worth having. (So much so I bought them online).
A pretty dam fab dinner party but I think the theme would be awesome for a sophisticated shower.
I'm obsessed with cake bunting.
And finally I think Parrott Design Studio makes the most loveliest cards.

Have you heard of The Rain Paintings? This Brazilian artists collects raindrops from different places and uses them to create a watercolour series. Before I knew what they were I thought that images were kind of random, but now that I know I kind of love them.

We love Wolves in Illovo, not only do they have the most delicious cake but their exhibitions are always pretty rad. At the moment Marsi van de Heuvel exhibiting some of her work. She has painted a series of extinct animals... we are talking a sea cow, a ground sloth, wooly mamoth, moeritherium...
I particularly love the print of all 21 animals.

Weekends are just the best in spring, aren't they? I love waking up and opening all the doors to let the fresh sunshine in. This Saturday I am going to StarLight Classics at the Country Club so during the day I will attempting to pack the world's most delicious picnic! What are your plans?

Here are some fun links from the web...
This is what would happen if Disney Princesses had Instagram accounts.
As New York fashion week ends and the cash pack moves across to London here are some cool street style snaps from NY. My favourite? Annya Ziourova in Jason Wu, can someone please buy me this dress.
The loveliest Lama printable you ever did see.
As bikini moments threaten, here are the exercise habits of highly successful people.
Miss Moss's fashion/art comparisons are really beautiful.
I've never been convinced about vow renewal, but if it means I can wear a dress like this then maybe I'd do it.
guest post: so obsessed with stripes
Thursday, September 12, 2013
I think you know this about me already but I am beyond obsessed with stripes. I love to wear them, have them in my home, I even incorporated them into my wedding decor. I think I may have a problem!
1. Stripes at our wedding | 2. You belong in my wardrobe, all of you. | 3. The perfect summer time cushion | 4. Babes look seriously cool in stripes | 5. Cause striped wrapping is so effective | 6. I need these traveling essentials | 7. OMG how fab this this play tent | 8. A striped carpet is a must (I got mine from Mr Price) but I love how Emma Jane's looks. | 9.

guest post: my fave children's books
Tuesday, September 10, 2013
I think books are the loveliest present for children. I love reading Honor stories and hope the twins will enjoy my voice too, without sounding modest I know they will! Here are some of my favourite books to read (and buy and collect) to children.
1. Any Beatrix Potter books. I went through I serious Beatrix Potter stage when I was little and love the stories of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck and Mrs Tiggy-Wiggle.
2. Beware of the Bull by Dick King Smith. Unfortunately this book is out of print now but I did manage to find a second hand version on eBay a couple years ago. This is the first book I learnt to 'read' but I actually just knew it by heart. I think I still know most of it.
3. Usborne's Illustrated Shakespeare. Because you are never too young for Shakepeare! I have alreayd bought a copy of this for the twins.
4. Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, because how can one not love a story about a chocolate factory.
5. And while we are on Roald Dahl - I think it is compulsory for one's aunt to read your Revolting Rhymes.
6. The Magic Far Away Tree by Enid Blyton. Come on, is this not one of the best children's books ever? Moon Face and the endless tree? The washing lady and the different land, the saucepan man and the fairy? I almost don't want to wait until my pieces are old enough I want to read it again now, for myself.
7. Are you My mother by P.D. Eastman. This is such a blast from the past for me, and when I look at it now the feeling of anxiety that the bird will not find his mother comes flooding back. Anxiety aside, I love this book.
8. We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury. The sounds illustrated in this book are so lovely to read like slooshing through mud and crunching through leaves.
9. Five Minutes Peace by Jill Murphy. I remember reading this story everytime we went to our grandparents. I love that that whole family piles into the bath!
Which are your favourites? I would love to hear!
Ps. I always write messages and the date in the books I give the babes. I hope that they will keep the books forever and one day (when they are all grown up) they'll read the messages and think of how much I have always loved them.
