Today marks 20 years since Nelson Mandela was released in 1990 after spending 27 years in prison. Earlier that month then-President F.W. de Klerk announced the unbanning of the ANC. On February 10, de Klerk announced at a press conference that Mandela would be released the next day.What a day to remember... I was seven years old at the time and although I didn't not fully comprehend the magnitude of the event I have a clear memory of watching it on TV. Viva Mandela!!
