Halakasha!

I highly recommend going to see the current exhibition on at the Standard Bank Art Gallery showcasing a full spectrum of cultural manifestations of the love of soccer. The exhibition is aptly named Halakasha!: a celebratory cry heard upon a goal being scored on South African soil. Curated by a family friend of ours, Fiona Rankin-Smith of the Wits Art Museum, it's a visual delight of makarapas, vuvuzelas, painted barber signs, soccer player sculptures, video installations, photography and paintings.
