I can get lost on tumblr. Endless images that inspire creativity, or that are just generally pleasing to look at. Brown Dress With White Dots is one of my faves.

I have always been a bit skeptical of preggy shoots because most of them don't capture this moment in time as I would want to remember it. Props and poses do not really appeal. But as my pregnancy progressed and I watched my bump grow I decided I did want to get some pics taken. Being pregnant is pretty magical and I wanted at least one pic I could have that would transport me back to this time... I came across Lad & Lass wedding photography and really liked the style of the photographs and asked Emma and Dylan if they would take the pics for us.

And so they came around to our apartment 2 weeks ago on a Sunday morning (I was 26 weeks then) and got to work while Jan-Jan and I made breakfast and hung out. I get kind of awkward in photographs but Emma and Dylan were great to have around and made the made the whole shoot really relaxed and easy. I certainly got more than one photo that I loved! Hello weekend*

Happy weekend lovely readers. What are your plans for your favourite days of the week? We have been go go go this week so I am looking forward to some feet up, time out. But there's also lots to do on the babe front like Preggy Bellies, building 2 cots and a changing table, finding fabric for my nursery chair, and sorting out our storeroom so it can become the cublets' nest.

apartment therapy

I heart our apartment - it's my little nest, my escape from the world, home to all our treasures and collections and memories (and soon to be home to our not-so-little family of four). This time last year we had just started renovations which only ended in September (!) ad I have been meaning to take pics of the end result since then. But you no what it's like, a home is never really "complete" - we are still changing handles and putting up shelves and hunting for certain light fittings and all that stuff - so if I wait until the apartment is complete, pics of the place will probably never grace the pages of B&D.

Until now that is. Last weekend, Dylan and Emma (of Hello Harbour Creative Co -Op) came to take some preggy pics for us (more on that later :)) and ended up taking some beautiful pics of our lovely little home.

a nice winter thing

I believe one can never have too many throws. Multipurpose textures perfect for snuggling, blankets, beds, and creating toasty environments just folded up on the edge of a chair. I find them them hard to resist when we reach this time of year...

Hello Friday*

My weekend actually started today (yippee) as I had to take a day off work to get a whole lot of things done, including going to the MammaMagic baby expo (wish me luck)! What are you up to this weekend? It's another busy busy one for me but as I approach 30 weeks time is flying and there are a millions things to still be done.
