guest post: zoo portraits

I wish I could have every single one of these zoo portraits living in my house. These guys look like they have the best personalities, don't you think?

the postcard happiness project

I think this is one of the most wonderful projects I have ever discovered. The Postcard Happiness project is a free online initiative that enables anyone around the world to send friendly postcards to strangers who are experiences challenges, sad or hard times. I think a surprise postcard brings one of the best feels so it is no surprise that I love this project. Want to send a little bit of happiness to someone who needs it? Click here.

The same super creative girl who started The Postcard Happiness Project also illustrates the loveliest postcards:

Hello lovely readers! I am sorry I have neglected you the past 2 days, no excuse but I have been traveling for work which just took up too much time!
I am excited for this weekend, mainly for two reasons: 1) It is the annual Food Wine Design fair which is one of my favourite Joburg events of the year. And 2) It's my first anniversary on Sunday. Wow! Already a year, we made it!

Saying goodbye at a party, I am so pleased all this time I haven't been being rude!

The great debate: which is better organic or locally produced.

Capturing their littleness

Sunday, November 3, 2013

When the babes were seven weeks we had some pictures taken of our new family. My mom surprised us with this gift by organising for our wedding photographer, Christopher Munton, to come and take some snaps of us in our apartment one Sunday morning. Don't under estimate the challenge of this seemingly simple task. It entailed not only getting two tinies up and fed at the right time, and mama and papa showered and dressed but we then had to keep the tinies happy and fed during the session. Needless to say things went a bit haywire towards the end of the hour as the above mentioned tinies got a bit fed up. However, I love how the photographs turned out - a little glimpse into our nest and life with twin babes.

My gran was in town so I asked her to come come along so we could get a few pictures of the four generations.

The twins are now 14 weeks, double the age they were then (!!). I specifically wanted to capture them as young as possible in order to savour that moment in our lives when we were still spinning with new babes, when their bodies were still an arm's length, when we were giddy with happiness and marked with signs of long nights.

Happy weekend lovely readers! I am looking forward to shiny summers filled with niece cuddles, market browsing and lazy lunches. What about you? Are you heading to any Halloween parties? I'd like to go as a super hot bat woman!
