Guest Post: Gift wrapping

It's mum's birthday on Wednesday and I cannot, for the life of me, think of what to get her. Aren't mums the hardest? I think it is because I really and truely want to get her something fantastic, something that she will really really love and not just have cause I gave it to her. Finding such things are so hard.
In the meantime, I only have 2 days left to find this fantastical gift, here are some wrapping-for-mum ideas:

PS. If it isn't your mum's birthday on Wednesday, you can still use these ideas ;-)
Guest Post: Happy Weekend

TGIF! Although this has been a short week I am as ready as ever for the weekend! I have absolutely no plans for these two days off but am looking forward to spending time, thoughts (and money) on our home. This weekend we are committing to the paint colour! Bailey and I are also finalising all my wedding photo prints (I know, like 5 months later!)
Here are some fun links to keep you busy today:
I am obsessed with Stickygram! Do you know it? It is a site that converts your Instagram pics to magnets and sends them to you. I know. As I said obsessed!
As you know our sister owns the lovely online store, The Selection which sells lovely things. She has now launch From The Selection blog, which I am loving!
Isn't this the best idea for a drain? Who said a drain pipe needs to be boring?
Mrs Fancy Pants and Mr Handsome mugs that have me reaching for my credit card.
Here is an update of Ernest. He has grown, become more energetic and recently discovered the wonders of jumping on chairs (don't tell the husband, but sometimes I pretend I don't see him curled up on the couch).
I wish I had never cut my hair!

Dolly Parton has an official Tumblr - get ready to waste some time!

Guest post: Winter style inspirations
Thursday, April 4, 2013
Today was definitely the first day on winter in Joburg. I wore tights for the first time (our family rule is to only wear tights after Easter). So now I am relooking at my wardrobe and planning this seasons look.
Here are some of my inspirations, as you will see, this season I am all about layering, a bit of sparkle and a touch of leopard, cute boots, chunky scarves and classic coats.

Guest Post: A lengthly list
Wednesday, April 3, 2013
I was once told that you should only put things of your to do list that you are actually going to do. It is no point putting "sort 3rd draw" because, let's face it, we all have that draw that will never be sorted. Apparently, they say, it simply results in one feeling depressed and a failure because you never do it, even though you knew you never would, so it is better to not put it on the list in the first place.
But now that it is the 3rd April and we are back from our Easter break I have created a mammoth list of to dos. Here are some of the things on my list:
Paint the whole house. Yes, I told you before about one wall that was getting a make over, but that has now been extended to the entire house. And then, hang all our pics.
Get floating shelves in my dressing room and floor to ceiling bookshelves in the lounge as well as an extra super large cupboard for all my pretty kitchen things. We also have to buy a new sink.
Order (and paint) some furniture for my shoes and the husband's books.
Plan a baby shower - for a certain someone who is expecting twins.
Finish organising the garage... we are half way there.
Have a girls dinner at the house...
Oh and finally, call the plumber ;-)

Home envy

Sink/kitchen love - unfortunately ours will look nothing like this because we are just repainting not rebuilding.

Shelves change ones life, I am convinced.

I'm not giving anything away.
OMG, imagine your garage looked like this.
Have a girls dinner at the house...
and use my ice cream machine before we are too deep into winter.
Attempt at least one DIY project a week.
This is my first project - I am going to make Honor a washing machine.

Hello Tuesday readers. I have just got back from a delightful 10 days in the Cape. And apart from three days of working remotely (reminder to self - don't do that again because it means you actually have to work), we had the most wonderful holiday and did all sorts of wonderful things and ate all sorts of delicious food. The good news is that I got a camera for my birthday (thanks parents!) so I took lots of pictures on an actual camera and I can't wait to share them with you.
For now I am just catching up at work and trying to come to terms with the fact that it is already April (!) but here is a little preggy pic of me lazing poolside in Greyton. Mostly because I wish I was back there but also because one of the few I have on my phone :)
Enjoy the rest of this short week (if you got Monday off like we did in South Africa).

Half way (19 and a bit weeks)!
