I think this advise should not be  completely written off as silly and old fashioned!

I guess the instruction to never approach sewing with a sigh or lackadaisically could go for most tasks or projects.

And I love the admonishment to " have your hair in order,powder and lipstick put on" in case of visitors or returning husbands- perhaps we should all take a bit of notice of that!

Our quickly planned (although long awaited) trip to India is finally here. I am so excited for what lies ahead - curry, textures, millions of people, mid summer, explosions of colour, monsoon rains, chai tea, tatas-trains-and-bikes and probably a completely different experience from anything I have imagined...

Happy Fourth of July!

Wishing all my American readers a wonderful July 4th!This holiday brings back such happy memories of clear blue skies, scrumptious summer food (I can almost taste the watermelon...), roof top celebrations, random strangers, best of friends, midnight singing, and red and blue fireworks lighting up the night.

Notes on Love and Courage

I came across this blog post (from a blog which no longer exists) and was struck by the selected words of Hugh Prather  from a book called Notes on Love and Courage. These three snippets of wisdom really resonated with me. Read them twice.
