High line moves up
Thursday, June 9, 2011
Another New York post this week but it is hard not to get excited about the opening of the next phase of the High Line. For those of you that don't know, the High Line is an above-the-ground park built on an old railway running along the west side of downtown Manhattan. It is one of my favourite things in the city because of the the views of the world below and the gardens and architecture are so well aligned with their urban environment. What a perfect way to start (or end) a summer's walk in the city.

Guest Post: Work Space
Tuesday, June 7, 2011
At about 3 o'clock every afternoon I do 2 things, 1) crave chocolate, is that normal? and 2) shuffle around tidying my desk. I always start the morning off with the neatest desk but by 3 o'clock it seems to have been taken over by a paper storm, amongst other things. I always say to my collegues, "in real life I am a neat freak"... I am not sure if they believe me or if they just wonder why I consider work "non real life", I am not sure of the answer to the latter.
Anyhow one of my favourite pages in the Vanity Fair is always My Desk, here some of my favourite ones from their archive. OH what I would do for my own office, or at least a big fancy desk space in real life, as opposed to my cubical in play play world :-)

Monday morning coffee
Monday, June 6, 2011
I am actually not a coffee drinker. Instead I enjoy my herbal tea every morning. However, I like the idea of coffee. A double espresso with foam somehow inspires more creativity than mint green tea. I do indulge in a cup now and then, but it has to be really good coffee, a cold day and preferably somewhere foreign. See what Al Pacino has to say about his daily cup.
But as we know, creativity can come from places other than delicious dark beans. Here's a list of things to kick-start your week (and luckily both tea and coffee apply :)). What other things would you add to your own list?

Finally Friday
Friday, June 3, 2011
The year is rushing passes at the speed of light. Does anyone know what happened to May? Hello June. The only good thing about this is Friday's seem to come a lot sooner.
What are your plans this weekend? The husband and I are going to a cooking class tonight with a bunch of friends. Should be interesting to say the least (since I am more the domestically disabled type than domestic goddess).

And for some lovely links to things that have caught my eye:
This pretty frock would be perfect winter weekend wear (thanks franklin-l-in!)
Intel's Museum of Me consolidates your Facebook activity into a virtual museum
I could easily spend my weekend lazing on this veranda - how gorgeous is that turquoise!
These things are essential to the always-inspiring Sophia Coppola (and I can't wait to watch her new movie Somewhere)
And these pictures of love bring tears to my eyes...
Guest Post: What to Wear in Winter?
Wednesday, June 1, 2011
It is suddenly freezing here in Joburg! Winter is definitely here. I am big chunky knits, ankle boots, scarves and lots of layering, what you wearing this winter? Here are some looks that inspire me to look fab even in the cold.
Just realised I am all about the blacks and greys... as always.
