love it or hate it?

I'm not super big on Valentine's Day (and hear all the arguments touting it as a commercial ploy and what not). But, I also admit that it is kind of fun. So this post is in the name of romance or non romance, contributing to a international money-making scheme or sending a little something to a certain someone.

 Cannot wait to see Blue Valentine with my Valentine. It looks quirky and cool, sad and lovely all at once. And there's something in it that reminds me of something pretty wonderful. Plus, Michelle Williams is awesome.

My post is late because I wrote my last exam today (well last for a while). Yay! I feel like my year has begun all over again and I can wear something other than "study clothes." I will be back in full force tomorrow.

One of my favourite things about NY is the food. I still regularly crave specific dishes that nothing else in the world seems to satisfy (yes Momofuku steamed pork buns, I'm looking at you). From high-priced restaurants to street food, taste tantalizers are not hard to come by. If I was to list all my favourite things to eat their this post would go one forever. Here are a few pics I took of yummy stuff during our trip there in October.

Spotted Pig. Pretty much my favourite restaurant of all time. Birthdays have been celebrated here, Thanksgivings too (next to John Meyer nonetheless), and even my engagement. But also millions of no-excuse nights too. If you have ever tasted their burgers, the gnudi, their chicken liver toast or devils on horse back you will know why... It made my trip when I arrived after more than a year of being there and I was greeted at the door by name.

Can't remember the name but this little rum bar in the east village made me feel like I was back in Havana. Super cool and they serve only rum. In true East village style you had to go up some secret stairs to get there.
