New year's resolution: 1

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

I love the start of a new year - that clean-slate feeling that the world is, once again, your oyster. Amazing how the change in a date can cast off shadows and bring in new light. Even the ritual of filling in a new red moleskin diary (yes, I am a nerd) is rejuvenating!

I am a sucker for new year's resolutions and one of mine is to bring in more creativity in my every day life (this will hopefully include painting + writing, even just a bit.) On that note, I am totally inspired by this illustration by Alexey Kurbatov (via here). If you can't buy it, make it!

First day back...

Monday, January 10, 2011

First of all, I want to wish you all a wonderful 2011! And thanks to Cheska for guest blogging (I always love her posts) for the first week of January.

I am back in the office, physically, my my mind is definitely still on a secluded beach in Mozambique...

Guest Blogger: Happy Weekend

Friday, January 7, 2011

What are your plans for the weekend?

I am going to be obsessing over Honor Elizabeth, and seriously what could be better than that?

Here some cool things from around the web for Friday (hopefully it will help the day go quickly!)

How much fun this these guys have with a ball of dough? I love the pencil shavings and the toothpaste.

As you know by now I am fanatical over stationery, I am loving these business cards. And this stationery, especially the black, white and mint pencils.

The ultimate style nod is to be put on his blog, watch The Sartorialist here in a new min-doc.

What I would do for a lazy afternoon, having tea at Laduree.

These vases are amazing! I am slowing becoming a vase person, which is so terrible to admit but I just love beautiful vases.

Guest Post:These are a few of my favourite things

Thursday, January 6, 2011

I absolutely love this heart map and am completely inspired to put my DIY skills to the test and make one myself. (I'll let you know how it turns out). I found it on Not On The High Street, which has quickly become one of my new favourite online stores.

I love the look of this desk. Although my compulsive, organisational self would probably never be able to handle this space, in my unorganised dreams I love it (and it is not even messy).

How beyond uber-cool is this Dutch brand, Moooi? I just adore this 5 o'clock chair by Nika Zupanc.

This party look. No more to say. Full Stop.

And this tool which allows you to search flicker by colour.

Guest Post: New Year New Look

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

According to InStyle UK, here are some 2011 must know, must wear brands... (I am already shopping online).

If you love Stella McCartney, you'll love Singapore-based label Raoul.

If you love volume so much that even a corsage could be bigger: then have a look at Felicity Brown.

Fan of Proenza Schouler and Marios Schwab: you will be a fan of Dion Lee.

If you want classics with a twist: Felipe Oliveira Bapista is your man.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope it is wonderfully surprising, filled with excitement, inspiration and sparkles.

I hope you had wonderful holidays, I must say I did... what could be better than an adventure to India, a new baby niece, a family Christmas and laziness in Mozambique. I'll share some pics soon. x
