Wish list babe

Thursday, December 15, 2011

Today's wish list is for the babes in your life. In my case, it is my niece Honor, who not only celebrates her first Christmas this year but it is her first birthday on Sunday (already!!!). Even occasions aside, I am always on the look out for great items that this discerning one year old will like (her favourite purchase of mine to date has been an ugly, plastic black rat with red eyes- go figure?). Here are some great picks for the little ones (and I would quite fancy that teepee myself!):

Recycled canvas play tent from Restoration Hardware

Out of Sight a pop up book by Pittau & Gervais from here

Cuddle Plush elephant rocker from Restoration Hardware

 Wooden bear placemat from here

Little lamb print from here via here

Stripey onesie from J.Crew via here

Balancing blocks by Fort Standard American Design Club via here

Don't forget to have a look at my other wish lists: "Wish lists for your man", "Wish list for the bedroom", "Sparkle wish list" and "Wish list for the kitchen"

I am going to start wrapping all my Christmas gifts this week... not sure which look I will go for but these pics serve as beautiful inspiration.

ps. Next week I will reveal how I wrapped up my gifts.

Shop it

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Keeping in the theme of Christmas shopping, her are some pics I took in stores in New York. (Please note, these are certainly not the prettiest stores in the city that is known for it's beautiful boutiques, they are just snap shots of things I felt like taking pictures of.)

The shelf may not be pretty but the T's are cool in this store in the West Village

Chaos in the famous 5th Avenue Apple Store on a Friday afternoon

Inside the Taschen shop in Soho

Sign outside the Goldman Project Space in Soho

Nike concept store at 21 Mercer

Monday morning

Sunday, December 11, 2011

I find Monday's extra hard when you've been away for a weekend. But instead of dwelling in my post-holiday blues, I'm adopting this as my mantra on this fine summer's morning:

Love weekend

Friday, December 9, 2011

Do you ever have a desperate need to be able to be in two places at once (you're human, of course you do!)... As I mentioned in my previous post, we are off to a wedding in Namibia this weekend. But it is also Andrea of Anatomy Design's wedding this weekend in the Natal Midlands on her beautiful wedding venue, Netherwood. I wish I could be attending her's as well but I know it is going to be an amazing celebration. So here is an early "Congratulations Andrea and Luke" - may you have the best day of your lives tomorrow.

And to all you lovely readers, may your weekend be filled with a bit of love.

xoxo

Weekend in Namibia

Thursday, December 8, 2011

The husband and I are off to Windhoek, Namibia for the weekend for a friend's wedding. I am super excited not only because I love weddings but Namibia holds a very special place in my heart. The last time I was in this beautiful county we were on honeymoon (le sigh!).

Here are some pics from that trip...
