Have a put-your-dancing-shoes-on kind of weekend
Friday, December 7, 2012
Happy Friday little love bugs. What are your plans to kick off the festive season?
We are off to the annual Christmas Shindig at the Rand Club - a perfect excuse to don your glad rags, raise money for charity and have a jolly good time all around. We will probably also be testing out our new braai (it's what comes with being married to an Afrikaans man). Bow ties + braais. A pretty balanced weekend ahead.

One of those days

I won't try and explain how I spent my day but it involved the second full-day workshop of setting up territories for one of my large clients, only to lose the map. Twice. Out of context this probably makes no sense. And as I said above, I am not even ging to try to explain further than saying it was one of those days.

I am counting down the days until I am boarding the plane to Hong Kong for our official honeymoon. EEEk - 13 days. I.CAN.NOT.WAIT.
So now I am starting to think of my flying style...

Lately
Admiring our new bookclub bags
Checking out cool designs at weddings
Tending to our veggie garden
Wishing upon highveld skies
Filling my house with peonies
Finding love in the city
Displaying affection publicly
Meeting this gorgeous little guy, Michael
Hanging out with this cool kid
Taking advice wherever I can find it
Long shadows and messages in the sky

The High Line is one of those things that you can't imagine NY not having. It is so perfectly part of the city in its design above the streets with views of the world below maximised by framed scenes, the pops of ideas that surprise you along the way, from basil-favoured ice-cream to awesome billboards. Seeing eye-to-eye with buildings which usually require some major neck tilting to take them in. The hustle of fast paced foot-commuters.
We found ourselves there quite often this last trip, as our apartment was a block away. Not a bad place to have your morning coffee and croissants. Or to take late afternoon strolls as shadows stretch longer and the air reminds you its Autumn.
