Thought for the week

PS. If only it were that simple!

209 days to go...

Here are a few snaps from Cheska and Human's engagement party on Saturday. It was a beautiful Johannesburg Autumn eve, the champagne was flowing, and the bride-to-be's dress was so fabulous it added to the sparkle in the bride-to-be's smile.

Happy weekend!

Friday, April 13, 2012

For a short week, this one felt particularly long. Maybe it was just harder being back at work when you've been off for four days? (Like when you get lots of sleep you need more sleep). Well, whatever the reason, I am happy it's the weekend! (And Friday 13th? Lucky for some!)

What are you getting up to? Tonight we are staying in, cooking dinner and watching movies (inspired by the grey weather outside). You see, we need to rest up because Saturday night we will be dancing the night away at Cheska and Human's official engagement party in my parents' beautiful garden. Rumour has it there is going to be a band and oysters (what more do you need?).

Here are some links from around the to help you get through your Friday:

Check out the pictures I took of Cheska's apartment featured on the Elle blog

Oh H&M, please come to Johannesburg

It is amazing how many people do not know this

This house is crazy (or perhaps it's just the owner) but how amazing is the garden

Gold flatware. Yes please.

PS. Research has shown that when you laugh your brain lights up in 5 different places. Make sure your brain lights up this weekend!

The world is surreal and beautiful

"The other day I was down by the Hudson River, and I see two nuns in full habit rollerblading down the street holding hands. And I'm like, 'Oh, my God, I get it. The world is surreal and beautiful. And everything is fine.'"

ping pong

PingPong in London is the most delightful little spot for eating dining on your ownsome (being in a city for two and a half weeks for work, one does find oneself eating alone now and then). Or with friends. Or on a date. Dim sum is delicious no matter who the company is.

Celebration to order

Guess what I am craving now...
