Behind the scenes

Good Monday to you all! On Saturday I helped my fashionista sister with a shoot that will feature in Elle Magazine's November issue. The theme was an urban summer in Johannesburg: why have a picnic in a leafy park when we have gorgeous rooftops with even better views. Thanks to all the girls that helped out and be sure to check it out in November.

You're invited to NYFW

The streets are filled with the longest legs, jaw-dropping creations are gossiped about, everyone ups their style game and fashionistas far and wide flock, for the first time, to the Lincoln Center. The era of Bryant Park Fashion week has come to an end but it will always hold that "first season" excitement for me. I was intern at WGSN during the spring/summer collections a couple of seasons back and had to do writes ups on the shows. There was one show that our editor could not attend so I went in her place and, lo and behold, I was escorted to the front row. Now that's the way to experience Fashion Week. Of course, the bubble burst as soon as I exited the tent and realised my Zara was not a Prada.

Anyway, memories aside, the invites to the shows seems to get more imaginative each year! It's as if the first piece of each collection is paper.
