(I chose this picture of Washington Square because this time last year my mom and I happened to be in NY for her birthday. We had a wonderful dreamy day, as one does on a Sunday in the city, starting with Freeman's for breakfast (and our favourite artichoke dip) and, after escaping (literally running out) an earlier dinner disaster at a pop-up restaurant, we ended with a midnight dinner at our good old local, Spotted Pig (seated right near Philip Seymour Hoffman nogal).)
